Career Objectives

I am looking to explore new media, design, & creative techniques that continue to evolve in this technological world. I want to surround myself with forward minded individuals who love computers and the tools they offer us to make things look great, work well, and keep the world in which we live interesting, enjoyable, and beautiful. I have over ten years of real world design experience with a solid track record, and I look forward to continuing that reputation with the work that I do in the future.

Professional Experience
Freelance Web and Graphic Design, Ft. Lauderdale, FL Studio [Summer 2001-present]
While my main clients are in the yearbook field, for the past seven years I have worked with numerous clients developing web sites, corporate identities, and graphics for print. These experiences have allowed me to become a versatile and accomplished designer in a wide variety of mediums. My reputation is growing in South Florida as a designer who meets deadlines while producing quality work which my clients love and almost always become repeat clients. Some examples of clients includes: Walsworth Yearbooks - South Florida schools like St. Thomas Aquinas H.S., Marjory Stoneman Douglas H.S., Gulliver Preparatory School, Felix Varela H.S. and more; Web Design Clients: TallulahLingerie.com; DawnChartier.com; AwesomeAdvertising.info; Foster Sports Inc.; MondiPrint.com; Divinafe.com; and more.

Atlas Pen & Pencil Corp., Hollywood, FL - Web Designer [June, 2002 – December, 2004]

Atlas Pen is an advertising specialty product manufacture in Hollywood, Florida. I was part of a team consisting of programmers, graphic designers, marketers, and product managers who developed multiple e-commerce websites for advertisers and teachers looking to promote their schools and businesses. My duties included the creation of all the front end graphics on their web sites, product images, photography, e-mail marketing, affiliate programs, banner design, and search engine optimization. Please visit the following sites to see some examples of my creative ventures while working with Atlas Pen & Pencil Corporation. Atlaspen.com, Business-Boosters.com, Forteachersonly.com, Atlasgolf.com, AtlasSchoolStore.com

Walsworth Publishing Company, Brookfield, MO - Creative Services Artist [December, 1999 to July, 2001]
At my first full time design job, I worked with an experienced team of designers who lead the market in creative yearbook creation. As a creative services artist, I traveled throughout the country to meet with schools to develop their yearbook concepts. My responsibilities were to take the schools concepts from the initial sketch to the final printed products. My work is featured in the Walsworth Cover Gallery, and I continue to have a working relationship with them.

Photoshop 6.0 Instructor - Career Center, Brookfield, MO [May, 2001 to June, 2001]
While working at Walsworth, I was recruited by a local continuing education facility to teach Photoshop to Walsworth employees looking to increase their potential at the company. I developed a six week curriculum for the twenty students covering the basics as well as the tasks most likely used in their industry. This was a fantastic experience as I learned just as much or more than the students about working with Photoshop.

Education

Florida Atlantic University [Boca Raton, FL, January 2005 - December 2007]
Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Animation. The main focus at FAU was on Autodesk Maya in combination with other 3D software to create fully rendered animated shorts from the concept art stage through the animation pipelines most commonly used in today’s animation studios. While learning these technical skills, I also gained a comprehensive knowledge of film-making and traditional animation as it applies to the current 3D concepts. Other fine art and commercial art skills like graphic design, sculpture, concept art, and computer design concepts were polished while completing my degree.
Florissant Valley Community College [St. Louis, MO, 1995-1999]
One of 3 art-accredited state schools in Missouri, I studied art and design here for four years. I obtained a versatile knowledge of color theory, physical mediums such as charcoal, oils, pastels, figure drawing, and illustration. During this time I acquired a strong foundation in fine art, graphic design, and a variety of printing techniques.

Software Skills
• Adobe Photoshop Certified Expert. I have eleven plus years of Photoshop experience and I feel very comfortable with any task.
• 3-D Modelling and Animation: Autodesk Maya and Mudbox for modeling, texturing, and animation. Apple Shake and Final Cut Pro for compositing and video.
• Web Design & HTML: I prefer to use Dreamweaver but I have often had to hand code and I am not afraid to do so. I have also used Golive for basic HTML layouts. I am not a programmer, but I have used Javascript with the aid of Dreamweaver. I’ve worked with PHP based dynamic content and CSS for most of my websites.
• Printing Skills: InDesign, Quark, Illustrator. Extensive knowledge of four-color and spot-color lithographic printing on a large scale web press. Printing and designing many “decorated” pieces using different materials such as linen, suede, and leathertones. Construction of 3-D art, stereographs, and lenticulars. Solid familiarity of hot-foil stamping, 4-color foil, embossing, debossing, sculpture embossing, silkscreening, graining (adding texture), and die cutting.

But don’t take my word for it! Let’s get together so you can see my work in action. I look forward to it!
